Project CARE

Collaboration and Resources for Empowerment

Project CARE is a child abuse and neglect prevention project funded by Children’s Trust Fund.  We are a  partnership of public and private agencies, organizations, businesses, churches, faith-based organizations, and other entities that have united to help stem the tide of child abuse and neglect in our communities in Jasper and Newton Counties.  We do this by facilitating services collaboratively to families who are experiencing significant stressors that can put them at risk for becoming abusive or neglectful.

Currently we have a Provider Network made up of agencies, schools, churches and organizations that provide services to families.  Family support teams help shepherd families as they interface with the various agencies to get their need met.  In addition to family-specific services, Project CARE also aims to strengthen families through parenting classes, parenting support groups,  and home visits.

Project CARE utilizes a strength-based approach in assessing and serving families.  It is our intention that families become more self-sufficient as they go through this program.   What can you do to help prevent child abuse and neglect in your community?

·         Get involved!

·         Educate yourself about the signs and symptoms of child abuse/neglect

·         Become a part of our Provider Network

·         Stand up and say “Not in my community.  Enough is enough!”
