Coming up on September 8th the Homeless Coalition of Jasper/Newton County will once again be hosting its semi-annual Project Homeless Connect at Memorial Hall. Since we have seen a growing number of homeless families in the area we are including children’s items in our giveaways to families. The Coalition will be accepting donations of children’s underwear & socks, children’s hygiene items such as hair ties, hair brushes, wet wipes and gently used shoes. As trivial as these items seem to you and I they make a huge difference in the day to day life of a homeless child. Donations will be collected until the day before teh event, September7th.
