The mission of the Jasper/Newton County SAFE KIDS Coalition is to reduce the number of childhood injuries through injury prevention, educational programs, public awareness campaigns, safety product distribution, media outreach, and local injury data collection.

The Coalition is a grassroots collaboration of representatives from area organizations, including law enforcement officials, fire and emergency personnel, medical health professionals, educators, media, parents and individuals that are dedicated to preventing childhood injuries.  The Jasper/Newton County SAFE KIDS Coalition is one of 300 state and local coalitions of the National SAFE KIDS Campaign; the first and only national non-profit organization dedicated solely to the prevention of unintentional injuries to children under the age of 14.
